A talented beader and a wonderful person is no longer with us

It is with great sadness that I will announce today that Justyna has passed away.

That she has been fighting a long and hard battle against cancer was no secret to most people who has been following her work on here and Etsy over the years.
That battle ended yesterday and we are one amazing person less in the world because of it.

On both her behalf and mine I want to thank you all who encouraged and inspired Justyna to keep doing what she loved the most; beautiful jewelry. It really motivated her to fight her illness even harder.

She was an amazing woman, kind and a very positive person that would always bounce back from even the worst setbacks. She was also a very talented person who had a knack for quickly mastering any handicrafts that she tried her hands on. But it was the beading that she really fell in love with!

It has been a privilege as well as an honour to have been an important part of her life.

Rest easy now, Justyna. You are terribly missed.

This blog as well as Justyna's Etsy shop (with no listings no longer available) will be closed down in the future, but I hope that both she and her work will still be loved and admired by many for a many years to come.

Thank you
/Sebastian

  13. Thank you for writing this difficult post, and letting us all know. Justyna was/is such a lovely person. Her words written here at her blog, on how she chose to cope with her illness, were some of the most inspiring I have read on the subject. I encourage anyone who is suffering from serious illness (as I am) to read what she said and let her continue to encourage and inspire you with her beautiful spirit. And I will continue to weave Justyna's lovely designs, and think of her kind, beautiful, generous talents. (I think the post was in Oct. 2013 and it is worth finding)

  14. Dear Sebastian,
I`m crying, because the world has lost a great woman.
Justyna was so generous. She has sold her beautiful creations for little money or often gave them away as a gift also. She was glad, when we were happy.
Her words were always so kind. I'll never forget that she wrote in the open post of 21.10.13 "Good it`s me and not a mother with little children". In this post Justyna wrote many wise sentences which have really impressed me. I'm sure she smiled as she left this world.

I am glad that I worked some of Justynas jewelry designs .So I can keep a part of her in my hands and my heart ... I´m missing her.
My thoughts are with you, Sebastian.
    Please don`t close this blog
    Greetings
    Silke

  17. :-( I feel so sorry for her and her family and friends. My condolences. I don't often buy patterns but I did buy several patterns from her, it was so beautiful and original. I hope somebody will find a way to keep her blog and tutorials online. In that way her beautiful designs can still be used, I think she would be honored. If there is anyway I can help please contact me.

My brother also died because of cancer. Best wishes for her family and friends to find a way to deal with this big loss.

  27. Dear Sebastian, Thank you for thinking of us and writing to let us know that our world has lost one of our brightest and best. I felt so privileged that she shared her life through this blog and through messages we exchanged privately, as I'm sure her caring and generous self did with many besides me. I have been a collector of her designs, but even a better, a collector of her strength and examples for living her life as she chose. I know you were a very important part of her world and that she found life richer and more joyful because you were in it. Thank you for that... it's wonderful to know that she had the happiness and support of your love.

I join others who have said please don't close down this blog or her Etsy shop; although I know you must make your decisions on that based on a lot of things other than our desire to still have this "form" of her in our world. If it does work out that you keep these things open, I know that I, for one, will visit both often... to read her words and to enjoy a stroll through the beauty of her creative abilities. And I'm sure there will be others who haven't already discovered her designs who happen on them and will be glad they're still available. It's a sure thing that in one way or the others, Justyna and her art will continue to make people happy for years to come.

Love to you and the rest of her family in this difficult time.

  28. I am so sorry. The patterns and creations I made from her designs mean so much more to me than when I purchased them. I will think of her every time I wear her designs. Take time to grieve and maybe someday you can open up her shops again and share her passion and joy with those of us that will let her talent live on for many years to come. Bless you and your family.

  30. Very sad to hear this. My deep condolences to all the family. Is it still possible to buy a pattern? I really wish I still could. Especially the twisted flower. Could you please put the design in Craftsy so I could purchase it? Thank you.

  33. Via email on her Etsy site, I felt like I truly knew her and had a friend on the other side of the world. Everything that Sebastian said is exactly the impression that I had of her; kind, positive, and very, very nice. I am so sad to hear this! She had shared her story with me last summer. The world has definitely lost a wonderful person, and fantastic beaded jewelry designer. :(

  39. Sincere condolences to you and her family. I, along with many others in the beading community, are hoping that you will consider releasing her patterns for sale again. Some of us did not get a chance to purchase the newer twisted designs and would love the opportunity to create more pieces in memory of her. From my very short experience with Justyna I do know that she was a very talented person with a very big heart and good soul. She will be missed.

  40. Today at 8:08pm
Sebastian. I just want to say I am so sorry for your loss, and for my loss and to thank you for all you did for my little sister, you stood by her and comforted her and cared for her with dignity and grace. you are one in a million. she shall always be in my heart no matter what she thought no matter what she said. I know in my heart she loved me as much as I loved her. She was my inspiration, my motivation, my hero, she had so much courage, strength talent, kindness, the intelligence of a genius so articulate and precise, not a day passed I did not think of her. I have all my handmade gifts and will treasure them for eternity. if there is anything I can do you know you can always count on me or write me if you need anything. Justyna will be remembered for eternity. Her designs will carry her creativity on for a lifetime and people will respect and admire her for years to come. It is a shame the Esty site closed down, people want her patterns desperately.. I have every one but I don't dare go against her wishes. I would have expected she would have wanted people to enjoy her legacy for eternity and possibly donate the funds to a cancer charity. Justyna was one beautiful angel and the most magical natural woman I have ever had the pleasure of having in my life. Justyna will always be my little sister. I pray she believed all she meant to me. She encouraged me and kept me focused. She taught me so much and would never take credit. I idolized her since the day we met and she will forever hold a place in my heart. I will always be proud that she called me her " Big Sister" and that she was a very important and significant part of my life. May you stand tall in this time of grief and know that you were loved beyond imagination. She told me numerous times how much she loved you Thank you! JeTaime Beaucoup Marcie Lynne Silverstein.. 41. I am so sorry to learn about Justyna's passing and very sorry for your loss. She had many beautiful creations and it's a sad loss for the beading community. I'm also very sad I didn't get a chance to buy more tutorials from her and that her Etsy shop is now closed... I do hope one day I will be able to design half as good as she did. She was admired by many people and we shall miss her. I was fortunate to purchase one or two patterns from her that I really liked. Maybe one day you might consider putting some of her tutorials in a collective book. I am sure it will be very successful.
