Four-leaf clover ;)

I know, I know, I was supposed to show some earrings eventually... but they will have to wait for another day or so. ;)

For today however I have another pendant to show - it was actually made rather just for fun, as it's not really that impressive. ;) A four-leaf clover that is supposed to be my lucky pendant now. Well, we'll see if it can be lucky indeed. ;)

Made with bicone crystals, wax pearls and Toho seed beads. It is 4,5cm (1,77") long (without the bail).

And this is how it looks like:

I'll see you tomorrow again... I'm afraid though that I'll come with another pendant. ;)

A beaded bead = another pendant ;)

If you're not growing bored of all these pendants that I keep showing, here I have another one. ;) A beaded bead made with wax pearls, metal balls and seed beads. Its size is around 2,5cm (1"), however with the two 8mm pearls and a bail it is 4cm (1,57') long. It was quite fun to make it though, as I didn't really know what I'd get... I guess I just couldn't get anything else than another pendant. ;P

I know, I know, I'm too devoted to one subject... I'll change it in the next post, I promise. ;)

Now the pattern for this pendant is available here:

While missing the sun...

The winter should be over already if you ask me! I'm missing spring and the sunny, bright days more and more... Another pendant I have recently made maybe doesn't look like the sun, but its dark yellow colour definitely makes me think of it.  It is a pattern with which I have actually returned to making jewelry after quite a long break - some wax pearls, metal balls and a net made with seed beads - they all make a pendant that measures 4cm (1,57") in diameter. A real sun to my eyes! ;)

beaded pendant

It's not that orange as in the pictures though, the true colour lies somewhere between dark yellow and light orange. And trust me, it's beautiful! And the pendant is one of those that look better for real than in the photo... oh well, not always I can take a good picture. ;)

Now, should I come with another pendant next time, or rather show the earrings instead? ;)

Blue flower pendant

Another one that was made in bed, a blue pendant that slightly resembles a flower to me. Made mostly with Toho seed beads (size 11, 15 and 8) and it measures 38mm (1,49") in diameter. A very nice pattern and easy to make... that almost makes me want to recreate it in some other colours. That pattern is a variation of this pendant though, and as you can see, different beads that I have used made it look much more delicate. It is also smaller compared to the original design. Not sure though if it's better. It's just different. ;)

Also, I want to thank you all for your comments and wishes. I'm not going to give up to that stupid cancer, I have a lot of energy, which I spend mostly on beading at the moment. ;) To be honest, the illness has given me such a power for creating new things, that it's almost unbelievable that I still can find time and strength for it while working normally and undergoing the treatment at the same time. Well I guess that I have to hurry up, I have no one to take care of my beads if I lose the battle. ;)

That means even more beadwork to be seen here soon! Hugs to all of you and until the next time. ;)

Things you can make in bed ;)

Whatever you think it can be, it is still about beading, you know. ;)

A simple pendant that has been created while I had to stay in bed after the chemotherapy... so instead of getting some rest, I didn't want to waste time and did some beading. The effect you can see below:

beaded pendant

beaded pendant

It consists of seed beads size 15, 11 and 8, 4mm bicone crystals, 6mm wax pearls and 8mm round beads. It measures 4,5 cm (1,77") in diameter. And I guess it can count as another donut pendant. ;)

I have some more pendants - and earrings (yes, earrings too! ;) ) to show - so stay tuned. The next update - tomorrow. ;)

A new tutorial for a beaded cube

I was away for a couple of days, but now I'm back with a new tutorial. This time it's a beaded cube, a pattern that has been introduced in this post. It's been ready for some time now, only due to the chemotherapy couldn't really find enough energy to write this post. Oh well, at least I still could do some beading, luckily it's something you still can do while staying in bed. ;) So there are some new pendants that haven't been photographed yet... a content for at least three more blog entries. But that will be in the nearest future, for now I have only the cubes to show. So enjoy and until the next time. ;)

The tutorial is available, as always, on Craftsy and Etsy.

Tile starry ball

Another experiment that I have found a small success. ;) A ball made with two-hole tile beads as well as seed beads size 11 and 15... will it be boring if I say that it is my favourite pendant at the moment? I guess so, as I tend to say that about more or less every new pendant that I make. ;) Anyway, the ball measures 3cm (1,18") in diameter and this is how it looks like:

beaded sphere pendant

Also, the tutorial for the beaded cube from this post is already finished... so it should be introduced in the next post. So see you until then. :)

A pendant again... and a few bracelets

I was supposed to write this entry yesterday... but of course I was too busy with beading. ;)

So some bracelets for you to see, but I'm afraid that a post without a pendant wouldn't be really complete in this blog - it's a must, you know, and sometimes I feel like the blog should have been called Eridhan's Pendants instead. It's a miracle you still don't find it boring to visit it. ;)

Okay, so starting with the pendant then. Not a small piece it is, as it measures 5,5cm (2,16") in diameter and it consists of... oh it would be easier to say what it doesn't consist of. There are wax pearls, magatamas, Czech and Toho seed beads size 15, 11, 9 and 8, crackle oval beads, faceted glass cabochon... and I was making it for quite a few hours. Strange really that I managed to finish it, considering that I needed more than one day to do that, and usually I'm too impatient to work on something I can't complete in 3 hours at the most. ;)

But it has been finished and it looks like this:

beaded pendant

The bracelets however were definitely faster to make and they are quite boring if you ask me, just the simple beaded crochet ropes, except of the first one, a macrame bracelet with a central motif inspired by "Seven Sisters" pattern. The beaded part was actually made a few month ago, only recently I have decided to make it as a part of the bracelet. It measures 3,5cm (1,37") in diameter.

So leaving you with the bracelets... and going to work on another tutorial. This time it will be the beaded cube from this post, so stay tuned. :)

Beaded beads... and another tutorial. :)

Have finally made the decision which I wasn't sure in the last entry. No bracelets yet, but some beaded beads instead. ;)

So here I come with two beaded beads made of glass pearls and seed beads mostly. And of course now they work for me as pendants... it couldn't have been any different way really. ;)
The green beaded bead is around 4 cm ( 1,57") long and 2 cm (0.78") wide, the pink one measures around 2,5 cm (1") in diameter.

beaded bead

beaded bead

The third thing for today to show is a beaded ball (or a beaded bead too) - a pattern that has been already presented in this entry.  Now the tutorial for this kind of pendant has been finished and it is traditionally available on Craftsy and Etsy. It is very cheap, as always, so make sure to check it out. ;)

beaded bead pattern

Now I have to go, but should be back tomorrow with those promised bracelets... they will be accompanied by another pendant, though. ;)

So see you soon again. :)

My favourite beaded donut again. ;)

Only not made with wax pearls, but fire polished beads instead. That has made it look a bit different. And more flat too, compared to the previous projects. The cherry beads used for it though are absoultely amazing! Not sure if I have ever seen the more beautiful shade of red really! Along with the hematite beads, they give quite a nice result, don't you think? ;)

beaded donut pendant

As always, the pendant is 4cm (1,57") wide in diameter.

The second thing to show is a necklace. A 3cm wide, black matte lava bead bezeled with white Toho rounds size 11 and 15. It hangs on a beaded rope made with cubic right angle weave stitch - a very flexible one. The total length of the necklace is around 60 cm (12"). The rope however can be worn alone too.

So, that's the necklace:

And a close-up:

Next time there will be some bracelets... or maybe beaded core beads? I haven't decided yet. ;P

Captured crystal and a beaded cube

Time for a short entry and two more pendants. ;)

The first of them consists of a beautiful Preciosa vitrail light octagon crystal and Toho seed beads size 11 and 15. The bezel of the crystal is quite untypical as you see... but that's only because the crystal had a hole which I just needed to hide. ;) It measures 5cm (2") without the bail.

beaded crystal pendant

And the second pendant, a beaded cube, made of 4mm fire polished crystals and Czech seed beads size 10 and 15... The edge of the cube measures 2cm (0,78") and the pendant is extremely light as it's empty inside... Think I'll have to make such a cube of some different color some day, as it was quite easy and fast to create. But until then you can see the one that is already finished. ;)

Will be back soon with more beadwork of course. ;)

An award! And a medallion... :)

First of all, I can't believe it has happened, but my blog has got the very first award! I was awarded the Liebster Award by Justyna, who runs a blog Kącik Artystyczny, which you can visit here: http://myartkat.blogspot.com/ . It was even a better surprise, since it has happened on a day I got the first chemoterapy treatment. So while I was receiving some drugs to my veins, my blog celebrated receiving its first award! Yay! ;D

So thank you very, very much, Justyna, I really feel honoured with this award. :)

And here are my responses to your questions:

1. Always pot plants, *always*
2. A North American Indian xD
3. Walk, preferably with a nice company
4. Traditonal book... somehow I can't convince myself to read e-books really
5. Late evening. Or even *very* late evening
6. A movie
7. The comfortable clothes, definitely!
8. Ummm.... hard choice... chocolate? Or a cookie with some chocolate ;)
9. None ;) Oh fine, Facebook then
10. It depends on if I'm hungry or thirsty ;)
11. That is easy. Defeat cancer :P

Now the hard part... I am supposed to nominate 11 blogs to this award too. And trust me, it is *really* hard because there are so many great people running such great blogs! The other problem was, how many followers should those blogs have... some sources say less than 200, some other say that less than 500... very confusing really. But of all those I have ever found, visited and read, I'm chosing the following ones:

I won't have any questions for the owners of these blogs though. Because I feel a bit confused whether they should be in English or not... these blogs are Polish, German, English, Hungarian... not everyone can feel comfortable with responding to English questions then. So the awarded bloggers can nominate eleven blogs and give their own eleven  questions without responding to mine. :)

Also, I want to say hello to all new followers and to all of you, who liked Eridhan Creations on Facebook... This blog isn't that old yet and not very popular so far, but seeing that you visit it, makes me want to run it for longer and never give up. So a huge THANK YOU! :)

And finally, I have a pendant to show... I have spent quite a few hours on making it and used literally hundreds of beads: Czech charlotte beads size 15, Czech seed beads size 11, Toho seed beads size 8 and 15, 4mm fire polished beads and one wax pearl...  all of them resulted with a medallion that is 5cm (2") wide in diameter and looks like this:

beaded medallion pendant

Now that's a pendant that definitely has become my favourite one! ;)

Guess what? More beaded balls! ;)

That almost becomes boring, don't you think? It's always either a donut or a beaded ball. Ah, damn, I just like making them too much, so hopefully you won't find it boring anyway. ;)

So we'll start with a black sphere... or maybe I should rather say that it's a round cube? ;)
Whatever it is, it consists of six bezelled crystal cabochons bezeled with Toho seed beads (opaque frosted jet size 11 and metallic nebula size 15)... well those cabochons actually used to be a part of my friend's t-shirt, only while visiting me she decided to get rid of them... and I *really* had to make a use of them, couldn't really let them be wasted, could I? ;) These cabochons have been connected altogether and are accompanied by montana blue 4mm bicone cystals. The pendant is around 28mm (1,10") wide in diameter. And here it is:

beaded ball pendant

beaded ball pendant

The second one used to be just a simple beaded ball without any embellishment. After a few years though it received some new look thanks to some Czech seed beads. ;) It is a little bit bigger than the previous one and measures 33mm (1,30") in diameter.

beaded ball

And finally the third one. A pattern that has been shown on here before... it is also the pattern that probably will be the next tutorial too. Czech seed beads plus 6mm wax pearls... 2,5 cm (1") in diameter. Quite heavy, despite being rather small.

beaded sphere pendant

And now, all of them together at once, so you can better see their size... there's also the earring from the last entry as you can see. ;)

beaded balls

For me however it's about time to get some sleep. ;) So good night and I'll see you soon again. :)

Beaded cross and some earrings...

Yep, finally have made some earrings! I wouldn't have been myself though if I hadn't made some pendants too though. So in this entry you can see them both. Starting with the pendant anyway. ;)

The pendant is made from 6mm fire polished beads, 4mm bicones, 2mm metal balls and size 11 seed beads. It is double sided  and it measures 4,5 cm (1,57") without the bail. Not a typical pattern for me though since its shape more or less resembles a cross, but a very nice pendant to wear anyway. ;)

beaded cross pendant

So the earrings I have made, at least one pair of them, is supposed to suit the pendant. It does, but only considering the colors, since they're made from exactly the same beads, but not when it comes to the shape. Oh well, I wouldn't wear both of them at the same time anyway. ;P The earrings measure 22mm (0.78") in diameter.

beaded earrings

And finally the second pair of earrings, quite tiny ones, since they measure only 18mm (0,70"), which match the pendant from here. Made, as the earrings from above, from 6mm and 4mm fire polished beads and some metal 2mm balls. These ones, in opposition to the first pair, look quite well while wearing with the pendant. That can make me wear them more often then. ;)

And in the next entry - back to bead crocheting. ;)

Beaded spheres

As I promised in the last entry, two beaded spheres, pendants of course (can it be any different? ;) ). The first one is made from 4mm wax pearls, 3mm fire polished beads in two colours, Toho round seed beads size 11 and 15 and it measures 2,5 cm (1") in diameter. The other one consists of 4mm pearls, 3mm metal balls, Czech seed beads size 10, Toho beads size 11 and 15, as well as 3 mm magatama beads. It is slightly bigger than the first one and measures 3cm (1,18") in diameter. Both spheres are empty inside, so they are very light. There's nothing more to write, time to show them then. ;)

The first one:

beaded ball pendant

And the second one:

beaded sphere

Now I think I should make some more earrings, since there are quite a few pendants that have been made as of late. So see you some other day with some earrings hopefully. ;)

Two pendants in one ;)

True, two pendants in one. Just because it is double sided and these sides differ a bit from each other. Sure, it is exactly the same pattern on both sides, only the colours of the beads are different, still it works fine as two pendants. It is made from 6mm crackle round beads, 4mm pearls, Czech seed beads and Toho seed beads. It measures 4,5 cm (1,57") in diameter without the bail. And it looks like a flower to me. ;)

So, this is one of the sides:

beaded pendant

And this is the other one:

beaded pendant

Also, there's one beaded crochet bracelet that has been made and photographed long time ago, but not shown on here yet. Nothing special really, a simple one, but I thought I needed something green for this post too, to fit the flowers. ;)

Next time there will be some beaded spheres to see. So until then. :)

A simple beaded pendant...

Very simple, double-sided beaded pendant made from fire polished beads (6mm and 4mm), that is 4cm (1,57") wide in diameter. Despite being double sided it is also quite flat - only 1,3cm (0,39"). Not a very complicated pattern though, yet it doesn't look bad hanging on a long chain... One of my favourite ones to wear recently - at least until I make another one that I'll like better I suppose. ;)

beaded pendant

Also, have made a few simple beaded balls recently that work as earrings for me now. A whole bunch of them really, so colorful that they look like candy. Yummy! ;)

beaded balls

Next time there will be some more crocheting... and tatting. So don't forget to check the blog again soon! ;)

Sunday, December 16, 2012

It's all about Preciosa!

Yep, because those huge rivoli crystals are so beautiful! I can never have enough of them to bezel really. So there are two more of them that have been bezelled recently - something white, and something black, and I can't decide which one I like better. ;)

So, here's the white one, vitrail medium crystal:

And the black one, sahara crystal:

rivoli pendant

Both pendants measure around 5cm (1,97") in diameter. The bezels are made with Toho beads (size 11 and 15) as well as Preciosa bugle beads.

Just another donut pendant... and a little thief ;)

It's been a long time since the last entry... Well the illness doesn't really help me in updating this blog more often, it doesn't mean though that I don't do any beading at all. In fact I do lots of beading, since it is more or less the only thing that helps me to relax and doesn't make me too tired either... So, there's a few new things for you to see. :)

As the title says, another beaded donut has been made recently. In fact it is more or less exactly the same pattern as the one from here, only with some different beads - oval spectra beads 11x8 mm, and some different embellishment too. And they do make quite a difference, don't you think? ;)

beaded donut pendant

The other side of this pendant looks almost the same. But only almost. ;)

beaded donut pendant

The pendant measures 4,5 cm (1,57") in diameter.

And since I got to like those beads quite much, I have used them for some other project too. A simple necklace with a core beaded bead, that can be slided up and down on the ropes, so it can be worn in a few different ways. It has been quite a challenge though to take a picture of it... It's all because a certain black devil has appeared out of nowhere...

beaded core bead

...and decided to steal it for herself. ;)

beaded core bead

The devil was generous enough though to allow me to take some more pictures before she had taken the necklace with her. Thank you, devil, for being so kind! ;)

So, this is how the necklace can be worn:

beaded necklacebeaded necklace

And the core bead (3,3cm long and 2,5cm wide) looks like this:

And soon there will be another blog entry with some new beadwork for you to see. :)
